Can you stop paying child support if your spouse takes away your visitation rights?

Posted on January 13th, 2010 No Comments

Even after a divorce settlement, spouses may have disputes for a variety of reasons. These disputes may cause further complications with the divorce settlement.

For instance, one spouse may choose to take away the visitation rights of the other spouse. In retribution, the other spouse may stop paying child support. This act of retribution, however, is not advised. The best remedy is to take the problem in front of a divorce judge for a legal remedy.
