What does the term conservatorship mean?

Posted on January 22nd, 2010 No Comments

Many people are familiar with the term custody. However, few know the meaning of conservatorship.

In essence, the two terms are the same. They both describe the rights and duties that each parent will have toward his or her child or children. However, in Texas, the legal system uses the word conservatorship for custody because it has a slightly broader meaning for these rights and duties.
