How to handle your spouse's mail during a divorce proceeding

Posted on May 11th, 2010 No Comments

When spouses go through divorce proceedings, they often will live in different places. When this occurs, the mail of one spouse may be sent to the residence of the other spouse.

When this occurs, the spouse likely will not want to open mail addressed solely to their spouse. Instead, they should forward the mail to their spouse or send it to the attorney to forward. However, that spouse may want to make a copy of the envelope if it seems to involve a suspicious financial or romantic matter related to the divorce proceedings.
