The El Paso County Sheriff and the Texas Attorney General’s Child Support Division teamed up to do a sweep of parents that have a warrant out for unpaid child support.
The U.S. Border Patrol and investigators from the Child Support Division used logistical assistance to find missing parents in the county. During the sweep, 20 parents were arrested that had court orders out to pay child support.
The operation began at 4:30 a.m. when the Sheriff sent six police officials to arrest parents before they left their house in the morning. Authorities would like parents to know that they can avoid arrest by contacting the warrants section of the Sheriff’s Department.
