Child Custody - conservatorship FAQ

Faq's

Family Law attorneys, child custodyHow is visitation decided in a divorce case?

Visitation is called “possession and access” by the Texas Family Code.  If the children are three years of age or older, the standard possession order generally applies.  This gives the possessory conservator the right to possession of the child every first, third and fifth weekend, beginning on Friday and ending on Sunday.  The possessory conservator may elect to have expanded visitation in which case he could pick the child up when school is dismissed on Thursday afternoon, take them to school on Friday morning and have them all weekend, returning them to school on Monday morning.
