Can the parties agree on less that the guidelines child support or no child support being paid by either party?
Depending on the unique circumstances of each case, the court may approve such an arrangement but it is rare. In cases where both parties are employed by the airlines or similar occupations which give them varying schedules, the court may approve this arrangement if it determines that this is in the best interest of the child. The presumption is that the guidelines child support is in the best interest of the child but this presumption may be overcome.
