FAQ

family law, child support modificationWhat must the custodial parent do to obtain an increase in child support?

A motion to modify must be filed in the court having continuing, exclusive jurisdiction requesting the modification.  An order that is three years old or more is subject to modifying it to reflect an increase in child support.  The order being modified must differ by either $100.00 or 20% from the amount that would be awarded under the guidelines.
