How should child support be paid?Child support should be paid to the State Disbursement Unit in San Antonio. There are at least two benefits to this procedure; first the state keeps an accurate record of the payments made and secondly, it allows for the prompt payment of the child support to the custodial parent. If a withholding order is in place, the child support is deducted from the non-custodial parent’s check by the employer and forwarded directly to the State Disbursement Unit. By the State keeping an accurate record, it makes future disputes regarding child support less likely.
