Mediation is a form of alternate dispute resolution designed to avoid having to litigate your case in court before a judge or jury. It is an informal meeting in that there is no record made, no evidence presented or any of the usual trappings of an adversary proceeding. On the contrary, the mediation process should be conducted in a calm, orderly and civil manner if a settlement is to be concluded.
