Is there alimony available under Texas law?The statute refers to an award of periodic payments from the income of one spouse for the future support of the other as”maintenance”. The law expressly states that maintenance is available for either party so either husband or wife maybe entitled. There are a number of requirements that must be met to be eligible to receive maintenance and much depends on the facts of each particular case.
