Benefits of an Uncontested Divorce - Faq's

Family Law Attorney, Family Law and Divorce

How is an uncontested divorce concluded?

If the parties have agreed upon a division of assets and liabilities, child custody, visitation and support and have signed an Agreed Final Decree of Divorce, the next step is to have the Decree entered by the Court.  This requires only one short hearing before the court.  Your attorney will brief you on the questions that you will be asked and these will basically track the allegations in the Original Petition for Divorce.  You will also have to complete a form for the Bureau of Vital Statistics which is presented to the judge at the hearing.  The judge may ask a few questions and then if all is in order, will sign the Agreed Final Decree of Divorce.
