Will the state investigate anonymous reports of child abuse or neglect?
The state will conduct a preliminary investigation to determine if there is any evidence corroborates the report. The state many visit the home, interview the child, the parents, and conduct an examination of the child. Any other person who may have relevant information may also be interviewed. Unless there is some evidence to corroborate the anonymous report, the state may not conduct a more thorough investigation or take any action against the person accused of abuse.
