In the event that the respondent violates the restraining order, what are the legal consequences?
The applicant would have to file a motion with the court to bring the offenses to the court’s attention and a hearing held to hear the evidence. Depending on the nature and extent to which the orders have been violated, the non-complying party can be fined, ordered to pay attorney’s fees and/or incarcerated.
