Elin Nordegren and Tiger Woods signed their final divorce papers on Monday, August 23, in Panama City’s Bay County Circuit Court in Florida.
Nordegren’s attorney filed paperwork that cited an “irretrievably broken” marriage following the highly publicized evidence that Tiger Woods had affairs with multiple women.
The terms of the divorce remain undisclosed, but issues of visitation for the couple’s two children, custody, and finances are said to be settled.
A joint statement has been issued by the ex-couple, asking that their privacy be respected and upheld as they “adjust to a new family situation.”

According to The New York Times, “For months, the dissolution of the marriage of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ owners, Jamie and Frank McCourt, has riveted this town, with public revelations concerning huge hair-care budgets, lavish homes and a Russian seer hired to send the team good vibes.”

Months later the husband logged into her account and read the two’s correspondence, which he considered inappropriate.

According to Scott Morgan, a divorce attorney in Houston, Texas, more than one third of his cases are somehow related to a social networking site. While it is not necessarily the site that is the cause for divorce, it is oftentimes the medium used to create unfaithful relationships.

Many Texan parents are having a hard time making their child support payments and are seeking to change the terms of support arrangements.
This difficulty is partly due to the contracting economy, which is affecting men even more than it is women. The unemployment rate for men is 9.8%, compared to 7.5% for women. But for whatever reason, lawyers are reporting an increase in the number of people looking to restructure their child support payment agreements.
